Green River Cleanup Walk: POSTPONED to 1:00pm, Saturday, July 24. Park at Hart Garage on Rt. 7.
The South Williamstown Community Association & the Hoosic River Watershed Association invite you to take part in a cleanup walk along the Green River. Park at the Hart Garage…cross the road…walk down driveway at the Thaisz’s house, 340 New Ashford Road. W’town will provide garbage bags and arrange for disposal. Wear rubber boots or water shoes, gloves, & spray yourself with insect repellant.
The Town of Williamstown has for the last few years been addressing the debris washing into the river from a former town landfill located behind the Hart farm on New Ashford Road (Route 7), but there is still work to be done.

Job Posting – Administrative Assistant 37.5 Hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm The position may also require the occasional presence at evening public meetings and hearings. Definition Responsible for clerical and administrative work in support of the operations of the Community Development Department including Board of Health, Building & Inspection Officials, Town Planner, and Appointed and Elected Land Use Boards; all other related work, as required.
Mass Audubon’s Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary offers SUMMER CANOE TRIPS for families or individuals 10yr+
From July 1 throughout August, there’s a variety of morning, evening and moonlight paddle trips. Prices range from $30 to $40. All participants must know how to swim. Mass Audubon provides everything you need—canoes, paddles, PFDs, binoculars, and experienced guides!
Watch for swallows, herons, ducks, muskrats, and signs of beavers along the scenic and meandering Housatonic River (Lenox, MA). Explore the coves and marshes of Upper and Lower Goose Ponds in search of eagles, herons, and kingfishers (Tyringham, MA). Or listen for owls, loons, and other wildlife on a moonlit paddle of Buckley Dunton Lake at October Mountain State Forest in (Becket, MA)
