W’town Town Manager wants you to “Share Your Thoughts on Recreational Needs”
Town Hall asks: “Do you have recommendations for how we can improve our existing parks and recs offerings in Williamstown? If so, email to the Town Manager at: rmenicocci@williamstownma.gov.”
In conjunction with recommendations from the 2016 PARC, the 2016 Open Space Plan, and recently completed Envision Williamstown 2035 master plan, the town manager has assembled a Parks and Recreation Task Force. The Task Force seeks further feedback from town residents, particularly from people of color, non-child-raising adults, or people who did not feel they had a chance to respond earlier. The group also welcomes input from all residents who would like to comment further on recreation opportunities in Williamstown
Local Results of State Primary on Tue, Sept 3: W’town cast 842 total votes or 16.8%.
Of the 4,992 registered W’town voters, 842 votes were cast, of those: 525 were EARLY Voting Ballots, with 217 ballots cast at the polls. Democratic: 776 votes; Republican: 61 votes; Libertarian: 5 votes. Registration for presidential election closes OCT. 26, 2024.

The Adams Theatre presents powerful works about masculinity & racism Sat., Sept. 7 at 7:30pm.
The Adams Theater is proud to present movement art and dance company Baye & Asa on Saturday, September 7, at 7:30 p.m. The company, directed by Amadi ‘Baye’ Washington and Sam ‘Asa’ Pratt, will present two thought-provoking and impactful pieces, “Suck it Up” and “Second Seed.” TIX HERE
“Suck it Up” is a duet confronting the violent fallout of male insecurity and entitlement; “Second Seed” is a short film responding to D.W. Griffith’s 1915 silent film The Birth of a Nation, based on Thomas Dixon’s novel The Clansman. It confronts the myth of Griffith’s “helpless white minority,” and the cult of white-victimhood’s enduring impact on American polity. A Q&A will follow the performance and the screening.
Amadi and Sam will be in Adams as part of a residency at the theater’s Incubator, which invites artists from the Berkshires and beyond to use our physical space to develop bold, original works that foster cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary collaborations. The Adams Incubator is supported via grant funding from the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation.
