WCMA – Tibetan Sacred Tattoo

Lama Tashi Norbu, traditional Thangka painter & Buddhist monk, featured in the current WCMA exhibition: "Across Shared Waters", designed a tattoo based on Tibetan astrology & created a personal buddhist mantra for Williams College student Isaac Rivera. Norbu chants the mantra as he & N.Adams artist Alexis Rosasco tattoo the design on Rivera's back. The design is meant to empower Rivera's lives for eons.

Exhibition curator Robert Wiesenberger introduced Paul Goesch, the subject of the Clark’s spring exhibition in the Eugene V. Thaw Gallery for Works on Paper. Goesch (1885–1940) produced one of the most inventive, peculiar, and poignant bodies of work to emerge from Weimar Germany.
